# Firebase Auth

> Configure Firebase ID tokens for Char publishable-key embeds

Use Firebase Authentication ID tokens with Char.

## 1) Configure Firebase in Char

Set issuer and audience settings that match your Firebase project.

## 2) Read token from Firebase user

const idToken = await user.getIdToken();
```

## 3) Connect

```ts theme={null}
agent.connect({
  publishableKey: "pk_live_...",
  idToken,
});
